Validation Study of Draw Furnace and Helium Cooling Tube used in Optical Fiber Drawing Tower

This paper highlights the importance of validating Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) results from a configuration as close as possible to the subject of our research and application. The validation allows us to optimize the choice of various CFD modeling parameters such as gas flow, grid resolution and solution methodology. The validation is based on comparison between our simulated results and experimental data for two devices, named as draw furnace and helium cooling tube used in optical fiber draw tower.
